London journalists discover another side of the city

Alex Wood, chief editor of the British editorial website Tech City News was in Marseille for the French Tech Weeks Aix-Marseille festivals, which took place from October 7 to 24 last.

This was an opportunity for the Aix-Marseille conurbation to show itself as a center of technological innovation. Through events that were part of the French Tech Weeks program, Euroméditerranée, Provence Promotion their partners organized meetings with key stakeholders in the digital economy.

The journalists were able to discover a genuine ecosystem consisting of a multitude of entrepreneurs from different sectors (cloud computing, e-commerce, e-tourism, software…) and leading companies such as Voyage Privé and Gemalto, all committed to help start-ups grow, which prompted Alex Wood to say that Aix-Marseille is a choice location for start-ups in their growth phase.

The MuCEM and the CMA-CGM Tower also left their mark. These two beacons of modern architecture are proof of the major change Marseille has undergone to become a modern city, while retaining its special cosmopolitan character and openness towards the world.

The Tech City News report provides a new take on the Aix-Marseille area, which was recently awarded the “French Tech City” label thanks in particular to the many growing companies present in the region.
