Connected objects, smart city or artificial intelligence, the CES event helps unveil the most promising innovations for the consumer electronics market.

One of the most important trade shows in the world for high tech and digital market players is the Las Vegas CES, taking place January 8-12, 2018. Each year, this event helps unveil the most promising innovations for the consumer electronics market whether it's connected objects, smart city or artificial intelligence. Provence Promotion will meet with potential investors during BtoB events including French expatriate entrepreneurs likely to internationalize or even relocate their business activities in France. During the French Founders' global network reception, the agency will introduce The Camp and more broadly the French Tech Aix-Marseille Provence ecosystem which represents excellent opportunities for setting-up innovative activities in Provence.

The integration of new technologies into everyday objects is an underlying trend. The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is a unique occasion for thousands of entrepreneurs to become known and to promote their innovative products.

With a significant number of start-ups, particularly within Eureka Park, France will be widely represented and the Region Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur will be part of the large French delegations. 40 start-ups, including twenty coming from the French Tech Aix-Marseille Provence ecosystem, will make the trip. Amongst these, 4 start-ups supported by Provence Promotion were selected to participate in this 2018 edition:

  • @Health, a predictive medicine specialist offering a medical device for fighting cardiovascular diseases,
  • Exalt3D expert in 3D and 360° visualization,
  • Book My Helo whose objective is to democratize helicopter flights through an online reservation tool,
  • and finally VisioPM and its dynamic 3D display solution visible without glasses.

Provence Promotion will attend CES in order to discover new talents and investors. In cooperation with networks of excellence and the territory's major projects, fifteen or so meetings with companies have been scheduled. Prospective efforts strengthened by a partnership with the French Founders network comprised of more than 2,400 French-speaking entrepreneurs from around the world brought together through a nomination process.

Spotlight on Provence's innovation at the French Founders reception

French Founders is a business club launched in 2014 by Benoît Buridant, a Frenchman who has been living in the United States for many years. Its operation, which rests on establishing relationships through algorithms much like online dating platforms, has become highly successful. In 2017, CapHorn Invest committed EUR 1.5 million to help the project's development.

But although this club offers a digital solution allowing entrepreneurs to help one another based on their location or issues, it also acts as an active community with its members organizing 300 events each year.

The January 11, 2018 event at the CES will, without a doubt, have a federating effect. More than an hundred members, managers, top executives and entrepreneurs have already signed-up.

For Provence Promotion, this reception represents a great opportunity to spread awareness of Provence's new technologies to a targeted group of both French-speaking and Francophile expatriates. With the presentation of The Camp, a new temple for innovation at Aix-en-Provence's doorstep, the agency will shine a light on the territory's new approaches for innovative breakthroughs. In fact, this ambitious site was recently selected by the government, through the minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, to unveil France's international digital strategy. It is part of the Aix-Marseille French Tech ecosystem process and represents a territory open to experimentation when preparing for the future and meeting the challenges of the world of tomorrow.

With its dedicated program "Start in Provence", Provence Promotion provides support to the Aix-Marseille Provence and Arles region entrepreneurs from their very first visit to the actual setting up of their teams. The agency's economic development services range from locating real estate and seeking financial backing to providing support for mobility and recruiting. Its knowledge of the ecosystems facilitates the projects throughout the decision-making process.
