Provence Promotion Business Development Mission to Bangalore, India
04 December 2010 - 11 December 2010 / Aéronautique
Meetings arranged with companies from India's "Aerospace Valley"

With a booming aeronautics industry, India today is a commercial partner to be reckoned with. The phenomenal growth seen in the Indian aviation sector since the 90's is explained by the opening up of the Indian market and an influx of new foreign investment. For these reasons, the Bouches-du-Rhône's economic development agency wanted to explore the investment opportunities offered by this flourishing market.

A program of meetings with leaders of the aeronautic industry in Bangalore
The new aeronautics Eldorado, Bangalore has become a recognized center of expertise in the sector with engineering consultancies, industrial groups, major public sector companies but also an extensive network of private sector SMEs.
These companies are now reaching a stage of maturity at which they are seeking to expand internationally and one of their targets is the European market. They represent a potential source of direct investment for France and for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

Provence Promotion has made the strategic choice to make the first move towards these majors of the Indian aeronautics industry by promoting our region's assets, with a series of targeted meetings scheduled with local companies and clusters involved in the sector.
The aim of this business development mission is to reinforce the region's aeronautics industry by attracting Indian companies and helping them develop their businesses in the South European and Mediterranean markets using Provence as a base, thereby creating both wealth and jobs.

Provence: A springboard for conquering Europe?
Even though, for historical reasons and due to a common language, London remains the choice destination for Indian companies wishing to set up a bridgehead in Europe, Provence still has a few cards up its sleeve.
The PACA region is the number two aerospace region in France and the combined aeronautics, space and defense sectors make up the leading industry in the region, employing 35,000 civilian staff and 45,000 military and assimilated staff and with a turnover of € 5.5 M.

Beyond the rankings and statistics, Provence's main asset is its comprehensive innovation chain, embracing engineer training, research and development, manufacturing engineering and production. The region's expertise covers a wide range of fields such as drone and aircraft manufacturing, on-board information systems and satellite design. At the top of this innovation chain is Pégase, the aeronautics competitive cluster in charge of structuring and developing the industry in the region.

Provence Promotion has set itself the task of presenting this crucible of skills and expertise and promoting the opportunities for partnerships to potential Indian investors seeking an entry point into Europe
