Find the Task Force of the "Provence Industry'Nov" Call for Expression of Interest among the exhibitors

On September 19 and 20, 2018, the Petrochymia trade fair will be held at the La Halle event center in Martigues. Professionals from the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, offshore and related industries will converge on this venue on the west side of the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area, at the center of an area which is emblematic of French industry.  Nearly 200 exhibitors will gather to discuss the energy offerings of the future. The event will be used to introduce the "Provence Industry'Nov" Call for Expressions of Interest, the aim of which is to stimulate sustainable industrial development. Steered by the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area, in partnership with a range of public and private economic actors, this initiative is intended to support projects focused on energy efficiency, applied industrial ecology, bio-industry and biofuels.

Petrochymia has chosen Martigues, in the south of France, as the setting for the first edition of its trade fair. Located 30 km from Marseille, this town forms part of the Berre-Fos-Martigues “golden triangle” of French chemistry. Its industrial base is dense, underpinned by one of France’s largest petrochemical clusters and the combined activities of Marseille's Grand Port Maritime, the largest port in France and the second largest in the Mediterranean.

International leaders such as LyondellBasell in Berre, Total in la Mède, Kem One in Fos and Petroineos in Lavera form a large pool of prime contractors who work alongside a multitude of SMEs and SMIs.

Recent and current investments made by these major groups amount to nearly one billion euros, including:

  • EUR 275 million by Total to create France’s first biorefinery,
  • EUR 200 million by LyondellBasell to rejuvenate its site,
  • EUR 300 million by Kem One to create an ethylene storage terminal and establish an electrolysis conversion project,
  • and over EUR 150 million by Petroineos to modernize its industrial facilities in Lavéra, ensuring the longterm sustainability of its operations there.

The dynamism of this ecosystem, combined with the attractive geographical location close to an international airport, a high-speed rail station and motorway networks, is sure to appeal to professionals. More than 2,000 visitors are expected to attend in order to prospect new customers or suppliers and seek out business opportunities.

Visibility and BtoB meetings at the Petrochymia show

Another key advantage of this show is the diversity of its exhibitors in fields as varied as analysis, transportation, materials handling, security, electronics, boiler making, filtration, etc.

200 equipment manufacturers, service providers, subcontractors and suppliers, from France and abroad, will present their business activities and innovative solutions in Martigues’ La Halle venue. This wide range of solutions will address the needs of all types of industries. A centrifugal pump circulates fluids as varied and complex as acid, gas and oil… as well as milk, perfume and paint. Petrochymia is a specialist and generalist industrial fair which gives companies the ability to establish many new contacts and exchange views on current topics related to new technologies, sustainable development and energy efficiency.

Among the exhibitors, the "Provence Industry'Nov" group on stand D30 will provide visitors with information about the region's current Call for Expressions of Interest. The aim of this initiative is to facilitate the emergence of new innovation projects in the fields of applied industrial ecology, energy transition and the circular economy.

The intention is to set aside 83 hectares of land for use by demonstrators and industrial pre-pilots to exploit strong synergies between industrial players, public players and stakeholders from the research and training sectors*. Interested project promoters will be able to meet directly with members of the Task Force to find out more about making an application. Between 10 and 20 selected investment projects will enjoy free, confidential and personalized support.
