Philippe Stéfanini, CEO of Provence Promotion, is pleased to have been elected to the board of directors of the French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud. The economic development agency, which has supported the French Tech labeling of Aix-Marseille since its creation, has been working regularly alongside its teams to promote the dynamism of the digital sector to investors and attract new digital companies to Provence.

Philippe Stéfanini, the CEO of Provence Promotion, has just joined the Board of Directors of the French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud, along with seven new members. This governance body brings together a group of public and private players to promote the development of start-ups and the digital sector in the region.

Since obtaining the French Tech label in 2014, reinforced by a re-labeling in 2019, the digital ecosystem has grown considerably, welcoming new players and creating new places dedicated to incubating and accelerating start-ups.

By relying on national tools such as the French Pass or the French tech Bourse, and by offering a rich program of events throughout the year, the French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud can be considered today as one of the most active networks in France.

"Many of the entrepreneurs we've helped in Aix-Marseille to create or develop their start-ups testify to the open-mindedness of the network's members. This development of new technologies is helping the integration of newcomers who quickly find their place in the ecosystem" explains Philippe Stéfanini.

In 6 years, Provence Promotion, together with the French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud and its partners, has helped 140 digital companies set up shop in Provence, generating nearly 1,300 jobs in sectors as varied as IOT, IT services, the cloud, data security, Edtech and TechforGood.

Provence Promotion's objective is to make the Aix-Marseille region more visible on a national and international level.

Provence Promotion's actions to strengthen the digital ecosystem will be aimed at several targets

  •     start-ups in their growth phase looking for a better quality of life,
  •     large companies to open their R&D centers in the region
  •     and investors to finance innovations and the development of local companies.

Each year, digital technology accounts for a large part of Provence Promotion's results, with more than 30% of the projects attracted to the region in this field.
