Oracle strengthens its presence in Aix-Marseille with its Oracle Day Cloud event

A day of discussions and sharing of user experiences in Marseille

The American tech giant Oracle, which invested in its first data center in France in Marseille in 2021 in collaboration with Interxion Digital Realty, is organizing an Oracle Day Cloud event for local tech leaders. The event will take place on March 16, 2023, with a morning session for public authorities and an afternoon session for private companies. The program will include feedback from users, a conference on the carbon impact of digital technology, and an exclusive tour of the MRS3 data center.

Since 2021, Oracle’s investment strategy in France has focussed on meeting the growing digital needs of French companies. This strategy has led to the opening of two new data centers in France, including one in Marseille, which is the world’s seventh-largest data exchange hub.

By choosing to locate to Marseille and work with Interxion Digital Realty’s data centers, Oracle benefits from high-speed transmission rates and connections to more than 4.5 billion people and 43 different countries thanks to local networks and submarine cables that connect the territory to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Far East.

"Aix-Marseille is a highly appealing territory because it is hyperconnected. I am very proud to have opened Oracle France’s first cloud region in Marseille. The area will soon be the 5th largest connection hub in the world and this advantage is one of many that I am sure will attract other major players in the digital industry," says Christophe Négrier, the CEO of Oracle France.

Oracle Day Cloud, a must-attend event for all CIOs in the Aix-Marseille metro area

As the number of cloud offerings for businesses increases and the landscape for cloud services becomes more complex, Oracle France is inviting CIOs in Aix-Marseille to better understand its solutions by participating in meetings and discussions at Interxion Digital Realty’s MRS3 data center on Thursday, March 16.

NovRH, the publisher of HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software solutions, and Axians Database (Setra Conseil) will present their feedback on databases and applications.

Faced with the challenge of decarbonization, Oracle is also organizing a conference on the measures that will be implemented to reduce the carbon footprint of its digital activities. The choice of Marseille was motivated by the presence of renewable energy sources and the innovative “River Cooling” system at the data center, which considerably reduces its energy consumption.

An exclusive visit to the MRS3 data center will also be part of the event. Participants must register in advance, as places are limited.
