An Interview with Guillaume Masson (La Timone Institute of Neurosciences)

INTeraction is probably the best word to use to sum up the new Institut de Neurosciences de la Timone (INT)! The 43,000 sq. ft. facility (the former faculty of odontology) houses researchers from five of Marseilles’ CNRS laboratories in seven teams working alongside clinicians from Marseilles’ hospitals authority, the AP-HM.
The project, which received an "A+" rating from the AERES, was financed by a global investment of €15 M (part of the 2006-2013 State-regional projects contract). Guillaume Masson, director of the new institute and an expert on the visual cortex, is an ardent supporter of the initiative, with its ambition to "bridge the gap between fundamental and clinical research".
