Interview with Emmanuel Grillo and Gert Bruggers (Ikea)

Ikea placed the first cornerstone of its new logistics platform in Fos-sur-mer on October 16 in the presence of its staunch supporter Provence Promotion, and is planning to open it in summer 2009.  It is the fourth platform in France after Saint-Quentin-Fallavier near Paris, and then Metz and Chartres… and it has one of the largest capacities.  Its size justifies its cost of 150 million Euros.  Because the idea of the Swedish furniture giant is to adopt a global policy based on genuine complementarity, rather than create competition between its platforms.
Emmanuel Grillo, Ikéa France's Assistant Real Estate Manager and Gert Bruggers, Ikea's Fos-Sur-Mer Project Leader and Assistant Manager of Ikea's South-West Europe distribution service, explain their policy.
