1st Edition of a Franchisor/Franchisee Business Convention

The Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIMP) is launching the first franchising business convention, Business Franchise Méditerranée. The event, a logical follow-on to Top Franchise, held in Marseille for the past 15 years, gives franchisors and franchisee business creators the opportunity to come together through one-on-one B2B meetings. Taking place on November 12, 2018, at the World Trade Center Marseille, the convention will also feature a number of workshops for project carriers. The following day, November 13, will be set aside for the brands and field visits. Provence Promotion, the economic development agency for the Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolitan Area and the Pays d’Arles, which supports franchise network development locally, is partnering the event alongside the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur CCI and the national franchise body, the Fédération Française de la Franchise.

Quality B2B Meetings

Business Franchise Méditerranée offers to put project carriers in direct contact with franchise development managers. To find out more about the brands, their corporate culture and franchisee conditions, up to 13 qualified 30-minute meetings can be scheduled. Registration on the matchmaking website is free for all project carriers, whose individual factsheet is added to the profile database accessible to the franchisors. “We are offering budding franchisees a new experience. This format relies on the quality of the exchanges to maximize the chances of projects succeeding,” explains Jean-Luc Chauvin, president of the Marseille Provence CCI and of Provence Promotion. Meetings between brands and franchise candidates are based on each party’s own criteria. Meetings can be arranged from October 23 onwards.

Meet Fast-Growing Franchisors

More than thirty French and international brands have chosen to take part in Business Franchise Méditerranée, representing a wide variety of business sectors: real estate, agribusiness, catering, personal care services... These franchise networks are the reflection of a booming market that is seeking to expand in the Aix-Marseille area and in the Sud - Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur region as a whole. Prospective franchisees will be able to pitch their projects at these fast-growing brands at the one-on-one meetings. Furthermore, as part of their business attractiveness campaigns, the towns and cities will be invited to showcase their assets at a speed dating session and a VIP evening.

Practical Advice

For setting up new brands, experts will be on hand to offer advice to future franchisees. During the day of November 12, project carrier workshops have been organized on the technical and financial aspects of franchising. These experts, which include accounting and legal firms and banks, have been selected to provide franchise creators with useful information and to share their know-how.

Opportunities for Franchise Networks

This type of event offers many advantages for franchise networks: a pool of 100 to 150 qualified candidate profiles, enhanced visibility and close follow-up on the part of the town and city authorities and partners met, such as Provence Promotion, which supports new businesses setting up in the region. A tour of the city center and shopping mall locations on November 13 is also being organized for the franchisors.
