After cars, cards and phones, it’s now time for grids to "get smart". The term "smart grids" has been coined to designate intelligent networks in the fields of power supply and information systems. All over the world, the deployment of these "thinking" systems faces a variety of different issues and challenges, with billions of dollars at stake in each case. And in this respect, the Provence region is making sure it doesn’t get left behind! It’s even in the vanguard of this sea-change, thanks in particular to the impetus provided by the Capenergies competitive cluster. Celine Auger, its project manager and head of the country’s first smart grid project, named “Premio”, tells us more.
