The Eurobiomed cluster
The merger of Orpheme competitive cluster and the Bioméditerranée and Holobiosud, associations gave birth to the Eurobiomed cluster which covers the regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Languedoc-Roussillon.
It retains the original mission of Orpheme: develop new drugs and services for emerging pathologies and orphan, rare or neglected diseases.
The cluster includes a very solid network of :
- over 400 companies, mainly SMEs
- 8 universities and a number of schools training 39,000 students
- 400 research laboratories
- 4 university hospitals (CHU)
- Inter Regional Headquarters for Clinical Research
To be among the top 10 European clusters, Eurobiomed develops actions in many areas and:
- Develops tools and services for businesses including expertise sharing, dedicated services, support in development and search for funding, collective actions particularly on an international scale
- Accompanies in the development of R & D projects, help with identifying funding windows and labeling projects under the competitive cluster.
- Develops synergies between public and private research in order to build up exchanges and promote teamwork
- Reinforces the international visibility of the players
- Represents the industry before government agencies
