Provence firmly committed to the future of energy
Provence is one of the leading European regions in terms of the production of energy. Cutting-edge research and a network of major groups and innovative small and medium sized businesses drive a dynamic industry and help attract major investments, the most important of which is the ITER project.
Provence is also the center of gravity of Southern Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece) with its 125 million inhabitants, and the gateway to North Africa with over 80 million people and an increasing number of economic and cultural exchanges.
Nature and renewable energy technologies go hand in hand in Provence
The region is rich in those natural resources which are not always equally shared… such as sunshine and wind! With a record 2,835 hours of annual sunshine spread over nearly 280 days, and over 100 days per year of winds blowing at a speed greater than or equal to 16 m/s (52 ft/sec), the region is privileged for the development of projects in the fields of solar and wind energy.
