Provence is an education and training center with a population of over 100,000 students including 12,000 in life sciences and health. All the specialties of medical technologies are taught in the various universities and engineering schools.
The Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Luminy (ESIL) offers courses in biomedical engineering that focus on electronics, signal processing, computer science and physics, as well as chemistry, biology and physiology in partnership with the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy. The ESIL also offers the "Digital Imaging" course part of the Research Master of Information and System Science.
