The Pégase industry cluster

As the newest competitive cluster in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region, Pégase was created by major industry players, research and training organizations and innovative SMEs, in an effort to develop the economic and technological activities of the region’s aviation and aerospace industry.

The cluster encourages innovation by promoting collaboration between industrials, universities and laboratories, particularly through collaborative R&D projects destined to develop new applications in areas such as surveillance, crisis management, transportation, communications, tourism and emergency interventions.

The strategy chosen by Pégase is to put to use the technological advances of such fields as electronics, mechanics, optics and textile, developing so-called “air solutions” which include precise and continuous site surveillance, ultra fast passenger transportation, etc.

Through this strategy and the strong innovation capacity of SMEs, Pégase aims to generate € 800 million in turnover within the next 5 years as well as 10,000 jobs within the next 10 years.
